A-Level Maths

A-level maths builds on the knowledge and skills acquired at GCSE. However, the transition is significant, requiring students to master the much more complex mathematics of topics such as functions, advanced trigonometry, vectors and calculus that comprise the A-level qualification.

During a typical hour of tuition, a student and I will cover a single topic from the specification. We start by covering the basics of the topic by practising ‘drill’ questions so that students can acquire the necessary skills, before moving on to the more challenging past paper questions. The knowledge and techniques learned during the lesson can then be consolidated by the student with the follow up questions that I send after the lesson.
